His Family and 50 Other Animals

Naturalist and author Dominic Couzens has been an Othona favourite for some years now, especially leading a Dawn Chorus walk as he will do again on Monday 27 April.

First we knew him as an incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining bird expert. Then he added moths to his repertoire. Nowadays hardly anything that moves is safe from his sharp eye and eloquent pen! His latest book is "My family and 50 other animals", a travelogue in which he and Carolyn with their two small children (aged 3 and 5) set themselves a target of one year to see, in the wild, 50 of the 100 or so mammals that live in Britain.

His many books really are first class - you can find details on his website www.birdwords.co.uk

But for a ringside seat how about bringing your family for a long weekend of Springwatching with Dominic and his? They'll be at Othona 22nd-25th May and we still have a few spaces. No promises as to what we'll see, but it should be a wonderful encounter - especially where children are involved - with the natural world. Which to Dominic gives an incentive not just for study but for worship.

To enquire about the Dawn Chorus and/or Springwatching email or call us on 01308 897130.
