BY CAR

The house is situated on the B3157. This is the main coastal road from Bridport to Weymouth. We are midway between the villages of Burton Bradstock and Swyre (and on the seaward side of the road). Please take care when turning in to the community drive; cars from both directions try to overtake on the hill outside Othona.

BY TRAIN

The nearest stations are Dorchester South and Weymouth. On a different line there are also connections via Bristol to Dorchester West and Weymouth - often more convenient and economical for travellers from the Midlands or North. Dorchester West is only 5 minutes walk from Dorchester South. N.B. There are direct buses to Othona from Weymouth, not Dorchester. You can look up train times, fares and availability and book your ticket online at: www.thetrainline.com/ or www.nationalrail.co.uk/planmyjourney/

BY COACH

National Express coaches from London go to Dorchester and Weymouth. You can obtain times and fares and book your ticket online on the National Express web site: http://www.nationalexpress.com/neh.cfm
There is a coach service - Flightlink 205 - from Heathrow airport to Bournemouth. There are coaches to Dorchester from the Midlands via Bristol. For full details of these and any other services visit the website or call National Express on 08705 808080.

TAXI CONNECTIONS

Taxis from Dorchester or Weymouth to Othona are likely to cost about £18 (more at certain times), and from Bridport £6.

BUS CONNECTIONS

Bus number X53 runs from Weymouth esplanade (stop K3) to Bridport. These buses run Monday to Saturday (except Public Holidays) and will drop you or pick you up right outside Othona on request, costing about £2. The trip takes about 35 minutes. N.B. X53 starts and finishes 5 minutes walk from Weymouth station.

From Bridport bus 210 (from West Street outside Portman Building Society) has been much reduced from previous years. Daily from Monday to Saturday, a single departure from Bridport at 12.15 takes some 20 minutes to Othona. Similarly, one bus pases the drive end at about 09.45 going to Bridport. When leaving, you'll find lifts are often available from other departing visitors.

You can look at some local bus timetables on the Burton Bradstock village web site: www.burtonbradstock.org.uk/

More details will be sent to you approximately four weeks before the date of your arrival.
